Goldbeck is a family-run construction company. Its main area of operation lies in civil engineering for the commercial and public sectors. The company has around 100 locations, including 13 of its own plants across the Europe. Goldbeck designs and constructs the following building types: industrial buildings, office buildings, multistorey car parks, residential and school buildings. The company also offers existing building refurbishment. Its
range of building-related services include property management and facility management, as well as the management of parking areas and multi-storey car parks. Cooperation with public-sector clients on property construction and operation is handled by a dedicated specialist unit. For us, building with a system means: the visible is individualized, the invisible is systematized. Humanity, responsibility and a passion for performance - common values are the foundation we build upon. We live out these values in our dealings with clients, business partners and employees.
GOLDBECK CEE South is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Workplace Certification™ certified for 2024.
We believe that the diversity of our employees is a key driver of better decisions and innovation. But we do not view diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity merely as a means of achieving commercial success – they are also a logical consequence of pursuing one of our core company values: humanity.
Moreover, we do not differentiate between men and women but approach people individually, with an emphasis on respecting and valuing their uniqueness. For us, the fundamental aspect is the activity of each individual, which contributes to the dynamics and growth of our organization.
Our vision is an inclusive work environment where equality and diversity in the team are key values. It is not our vision to have only "young blood," but also to retain our long-term colleagues. Since we need to integrate new talent with our know-how, and this knowledge is held by our long-standing employees. Every employee is valuable to us and has their place and potential within the company.
We believe that by embracing a diverse range of perspectives, we create a more innovative and resilient organization. This is our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, which reflects our core values and is essential for our ongoing success and sustainability. This is not only a commitment of the company towards sustainability but also towards our employees. Our GOLDBECK CEE South strategy for 2028.
GOLDBECK CEE South has established an equitable pay scale for employees over the recent years. Our goal for 2025 is to focus on promoting gender equality and simultaneously supporting women and single parents in their career advancement, as well as creating a well-being environment within our company.
We believe that the diversity of our employees is a key driver of better decisions and innovation. But we do not view diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity merely as a means of achieving commercial success – they are also a logical consequence of the pursuit of one of our core company values: humanity. We have therefore also identified “Diversity and equal opportunity” as one of the material topics of our sustainability strategy. In addition, diversity is an integral component of GOLDBECK’s strategy for 2028. More women in the company – more women in management. These are GOLDBECK’s declared goals.
Our goal is to enhance the attractiveness of positions within gender equality that are currently perceived as exclusively male or female. It is necessary to conduct awareness activities and educate people, as well as to make these positions more appealing and accessible to all, regardless of gender.
GOLDBECK CEE South is a regional company belonging to the German holding of a family-owned business, which has been operating in the German market since 1969 and in the Slovak, Hungarian, Slovenian, and Croatian markets since 2004.
GOLDBECK is a second-generation family company. This already says a lot about who we are. Humanity, responsibility, and a passion for performance are the values we live by every day. We work together, sharing common goals – but sometimes taking different paths to achieve them: our decentralized structure allows us to respond to regional specifics, among other aspects. This is just one of the things that distinguishes GOLDBECK and should be preserved. Trust is the foundation that we build upon. It enables us to act independently and take responsibility. And what ultimately counts is this: Together we are GOLDBECK.
GOLDBECK CEE South is guided by the common motto "create together." Although we are four countries, four cultures, and four different languages, we form a unified regional company. As such a diverse regional company, we do not need to specifically highlight our values of diversity. This unity and shared purpose underpin our approach to every project and interaction within our markets. Additionally, this approach extends to our employees, emphasizing our commitment to inclusivity and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
As a company, we aim to identify talented women at an early stage and support them along their career path, jointly clearing any possible hindrances from their path to succeeding in a male-dominated industry.
GOLDBECK signed the “Charta der Vielfalt” diversity charter in 2009. The GOLDBECKwomen network has been active since 2014. We have more than 75 active members in 8 active work groups as whole GOLDBECKwomen network.
GOLDBECK analyzed survey results to develop regional strategies for enhancing career opportunities for women, initiating a variety of diversity-focused strategies.
Workshops for Managers
GOLDBECK conducted workshops for both male and female managers to enhance awareness of diversity and equal opportunities, and specifically targeted female managers in regions with fewer women leaders to foster managerial skills.
“TANDEM” Mentoring Program
Since 2022, the “TANDEM” mentoring program for female employees has been conducted annually to support their career advancement.
GOLDBECKwomen Network Growth
Since its inception in 2014, the GOLDBECKwomen network, aimed at women in specialist and managerial roles, has expanded from 20 to over 130 members across 30 sites, and was rebranded in 2022 to include international members.
International Women Working Group Meeting
The first international meeting of the GOLDBECKwomen network took place in Frankfurt in April 2023, marking a significant step in fostering international collaboration.
Diversity in Leadership Training
GOLDBECK ensures that at least 20 percent of its young managers fast-track program participants are female and incorporates a “Diversity” module in all management training since 2021.
External Engagements
Members of GOLDBECKwomen actively participate in external events like the Female Business Network Conference and the Real Estate Summit Women, enhancing the network's visibility and influence.
Encouraging a healthy work-life balance is an important factor when it comes to promoting equal opportunities and offering our employees a modern work environment. In addition to flexible working hours, we support parental leave for both mothers and fathers and help them with their re-entry to the workforce. This is done individually on the basis of guidelines on parental leave and re-entry and through the use of a standardised process. An external family advisory service covering childcare, parental leave and caring for relatives has also been providing practical support since 2022. It offers our employees advice free of charge and supports them, for example, with looking for a childcare place. At the Bielefeld and Hirschberg sites, we offer in-house childcare through our child daycare facilities known as “GOLDBECKchen”. At other sites, GOLDBECK has reserved places at external child day care centres to make re-entry to the workforce easier.
Some of our Family Friendly Benefits include:
• Childcare
• Chlldcare allowance
• Parent-and-child rooms
• Support for caregivers
• Viva FamilyService
Buildings seal soil. As a result, the habitats under them and local water resources may be destroyed. None of our sites are adjacent to nature conservation areas. Nevertheless, we want to help to keep this impact as low as possible at our own sites. We therefore create green spaces that promote biodiversity. We screen selected sites accordingly. Based on the results, we implement measures to promote biodiversity and develop a biodiversity mission statement with external support. We also screen rental properties and discuss the implementation of measures with the owners.
We founded the Diversity Steering Committee to manage the relevant key figures on diversity in the Group. The Committee comprises members of the Executive Board and those responsible for diversity within our Human Resources and Group Sustainability divisions. The Diversity Steering Committee is developing a wide range of measures to anchor diversity and inclusion in our company and make them a routine part of life at GOLDBECK for all our employees. View our accomplishments in the Sustainability Report.
As a family-owned company, it is very important to us to ensure that our colleagues feel at home at GOLDBECK and can develop professionally and personally. Our management culture is designed with this principle in mind, and we offer our employees both material and non-material incentives. Our measures include:
• A company culture that values employees
• Performance-based pay
• Enabling employees to share in the company’s success and financial stability
• Opportunities for geographical, professional and personal development
• Flexible working hours models for a better work-life balance.
We follow the “human experience management” (HXM) approach in our HR work. In this, employees are viewed less as just “human resources” than they are in traditional personnel management. Instead, their needs and motivations take priority.
Our employees receive fair compensation for their performance in line with market standards. In addition to our basic salary, which is increased every autumn in line with the average inflation over the past twelve months, we also offer a variable, performance-based compensation and a profit bonus. Employees very much appreciate the fact that their pay keeps up with inflation.
GOLDBECK CEE South is an equal opportunity employer committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Our colleagues’ personal and professional development is very important to us. Our growth offers many opportunities.
We make no distinction between men and women in our region - everyone is part of the team! Women not only bring professionalism to every company but also the necessary empathy, which is often indispensable, especially in construction companies.
