Learnlight is an EdTech company that believes in putting people first. We take every opportunity to demonstrate this through our values of enthusiasm, initiative and commitment. We find joy and deep satisfaction in delighting our clients, empowering our learners, and helping our team to excel in everything they do.

As a people-powered EdTech, our mission is to build a brighter, more sustainable future together. We do this by deploying education and technology to build mutual understanding between people with different languages, cultures and beliefs. Combined with a long-term, sustainable approach we aim to safeguard our people, our communities and our planet.

We came to life in 2007, born from a dream to bridge the gap between the worlds of corporate education and transformative technology. Our vision was to create an exceptional EdTech company for international enterprises, a company that could harness leading-edge technology to optimize instructor-led training (ILT) rather than replace it.

Our Transformative Stories

Learnlight's Corporate Social Responsibility

Building a Brighter, More Sustainable Future

As a People-Powered EdTech, our mission is to build a brighter, more sustainable future, together. We deploy education and technology to build mutual understanding between those with different languages, cultures and beliefs.

Coupled with a longterm sustainable approach, we aim to safeguard our people, our communities, and our planet.

Community-based Initiatives

Just as importantly, our DEI strategy has served as the guiding pillar for the community-based initiatives we choose to support. Each year, on behalf of our clients, and in communication with them, we select a charity project to support that is aligned our mission and goals. More specifically, over the years, we’ve supported organisations that improve the human experience. Below are just two examples of our annual partnerships in recent years.

• In 2024, we partnered with the International Cultural Diversity Organisation (ICDO) dedicated to advancing human rights, cultural diversity and inclusivity. Their mission is to raise awareness of diverse cultural expressions and values with the aim to foster cultural interaction, unite people and bridge cultural gaps.

• In 2023, we pledged support to the Malala Fund, an organisation committed to improving access to education for girls around the world, with an emphasis on girls’ education in developing countries. Our financial support has enabled the fund to continue with initiatives such as providing tuition in STEM subjects to young women in Pakistan, and creating safe learning spaces for girls in Nigeria, among others.

We’ve also sponsored other charities including:

• Room to Read Charity dedicated to helping young children improving their literacy.

• Team Kenya Charity dedicated to working with schools, universities and corporates to improve girls education and gender equality in in Kenya.

• Josiah’s House Charity – an orphanage in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, dedicated to empowering youth with education while providing a loving and nurturing environment for homeless children.

• Learning Lions Charity – a non-provide enabling young adults in marginalized rural communities of East Africa to become digital creatives and create economic empowerment.

United Nations Global Compact Partnership

In March 2023, Learnlight proudly joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), reaffirming our commitment to
aligning our operations with the UNGC’s 10 principles related to human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Through this action, we are committing to:

• Operating responsibly in alignments to the universal sustainability principles.
• Taking actions that supports the society around us
• Committing to the effort from our organization’s highest level, turning sustainability into part of our DNA
• Reporting annually on our ongoing efforts

Collaboration with JUST ONE Tree to Combat Deforestation and Offset Carbon Emissions

Learnlight has initiated a meaningful collaboration with JUST ONE Tree, a non-profit organization dedicated
to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and reversing biodiversity loss through reforestation. Through this
partnership, we aim to combat deforestation, one tree at a time.

At Learnlight we aim to minimize our environmental impact and specifically our carbon footprint through sustainable work practices. Last year we reduced our carbon footprint to just 144 tCO2e. We did this by reducing our carbon footprint and offsetting the remaining emissions by  investing in community projects.

To offset our emissions in 2022, we invested in the Gyapa Efficient Cookstoves Project in Ghana, as part of its Carbon Neutral Company Certification - a globally recognized standard for carbon neutrality achieved by minimizing the company’s carbon footprint, and contributing to specific carbon offsetting projects, in line with The CarbonNeutral Protocol. The project aims to improve the health and livelihoods of local communities by providing them with clean and efficient cookstoves. Gyapa cookstoves use less fuel, saving families more than $165 million on fuel bills, and emits fewer harmful pollutants. Therefore, this initiative helped reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and protect local forests. It also provided employment opportunities for locals manufacturing and retailing the stoves.

What our staff are saying?

Learnlight is a rare company truly committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging beyond mere words. What the company represents outwards is actually what it nurtures inwards. This is reflected in the selection of training programs it offers to its employees and also to its leadership team, to keep up with the latest industry trends and tackle important topics such as inclusive leadership, psychological safety, intercultural awareness, unconscious bias, etc. I love being a part of these initiatives and keep learning.

LBLBTrainer

My decade-long journey with Learnlight has been marked by freedom, respect, autonomy, teamwork, and global accessibility. These factors not only make it a great place to work but also ensure that I am  continuously motivated and engaged in my role. I look forward to many more years of growth and success with Learnlight.

KFKFTrainer

Having been with Learnlight for the past 14 years, I can confidently say that DEI is a fundamental part of Learnlight’s cultural fabric, and as a learning company, we also fully embrace the need to continually educate ourselves to become an even more inclusive community and workplace. The most recent example of this drive for continued improvement is the reflective and action oriented Inclusive Leadership training series. In addition to gaining theoretical and explicit knowledge on creating a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe work environment where people can feel they truly belong as they are, we are also encouraged to reflect on our unconscious biases and how they may affect our interactions and reactions to different situations, including team management. This supports keeping inclusive management practices at the forefront of our minds and helps promote more intentional and reflective interactions with our peers.
