BTS – The Grammy-nominated supergroup shared their own experiences with racism and used their platform to speak out against Asian hate
People Magazine: “We feel grief and anger,” the group said, going on to detail some of the racist attacks they’ve experienced as Asian men. “We have endured expletives without reason and were mocked for the way we look. We were even asked why Asians spoke in English,” the statement said. “We cannot put into words the pain of becoming a subject of hatred and violence for such a reason.”
CNN: K-pop stars BTS share racial discrimination they faced. K-pop stars BTS have spoken out about their own experience with racial discrimination in the wake of rising anti-Asian violence in the US. A study by the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino, shows that anti-Asian hate crimes in 16 of America’s largest cities increased 149% in 2020.

What is “Truth and Reconciliation”? Did you know that Residential Schools have been in operation in Canada for more than 160 years? More than 150,000 First Nations, Métis and Inuit children have been forced to separate from their families and communities and put into schools where they were forced to let go of their traditions, cultural practices and languages.
