How to promote and celebrate your Diversity & Inclusion accomplishments for Branding?

7 ideas to effectively communicate and celebrate your diversity and inclusion results to the public for company branding reasons

Congratulations if you are reading this page, it means that either you have your diversity and inclusion policy, strategy in place, and you are ready to promote it, or,

You are taking important steps to plan your diversity and inclusion management within your organization.

So now you have the policy approved by your senior management, it is well written, proofread by your copywriter, review by your organization legal team, no what?

Of course now will be the time to promote it to your target audience including your customers, staff, key external relationship stakeholders.

If you are a government organization, you want to Promote and communicate your diversity and inclusion policy to your citizens;

If you are an educational institution such as a University, College, High school, or even elementary school, you want to promote and announce your diversity and inclusion policy to current students, prospective students, parents, government relations stakeholders, and alumni.

If you are a private business such as a B2C business, you want to promote and communicate your diversity and Inclusion commitments to your customers, prospects, staff, and even suppliers for supplier diversity.

If you want to communicate your newly created Diversity policy publicly, releasing a press release is the best way to go. Most press release distribution services allow you to distribute your diversity-related press release to media journalists across locations of your choice.

You can choose to distribute your press release to certain geography within your states or province, or nationally in the United States, Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, New Zealand – all English-speaking countries.

You can also choose to distribute your press release to a handful of journalists or media such as TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, online media, or online news portals.

Create a website or landing Page

If you are serious about having a permanent statement of your new policy, creating a website or policy specific landing page would be a good option.

You can create a website using web hosting services with a simple Content Management System such as Drupal or WordPress. You can post your policy and other information on the site and share it with your target audiences.

You can also create a diversity or policy landing page. A landing page is a standalone web page, created specifically for a marketing or advertising campaign. It’s where a visitor “lands” after they click on a link in an email, or ads from Google, Bing, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or similar places on the web. A policy landing page can provide directions and quick information to your policy, and where your readers can follow up with more information.

An Infographic is an effective way to communicate important information with visual and graphics. You can find many suppliers or freelancers online to create attractive infographics for you. Fiverr is one of my favourite platforms for such freelance services.

Another great idea to promote diversity and inclusivity is using animated diversity explainer videos.

Share on Social Media

Share your policy, or your diversity policy landing page on your social media, such as Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram.

Create a newsletter

You can create a newsletter to provide updates of the policy and new diversity events. An email newsletter is a powerful marketing tool . They go directly to your audience inbox. It reminds your readers about your brand; it informs readers about your products; it tells them what your brand has been up to and it helps you build a unique personal relationship with them.

There are tools like mailchimp that you can use to create a newsletter or subscriber list for free. One of my favourite tool is ConvertKit.

ConvertKit is an email management tool that makes it easy for you to create email newsletters and manage your subscribers. It is very easy to use and your diverse audience will love your creativity.

Distribute Printed Promotional Materials

You can print the infographic or other marketing materials for the diversity policy and distribute to your audience.
